Evidences
of Community Outreach
Reflection
The
responsibility of a teacher is not limited in the four wall of the classroom or
inside the school. A teacher also have a responsibility to the betterment of
her community. So one of the things she need to do is to serve the community by
teaching good moral and right conduct to the next generation. Aside from it she
is also called to do something to help the community in the problem that it is
facing. For our community outreach Social studies department and Science
department decide to clean around the area near in the school. This will lessen
the garbage near in the school that my cause different sickness to the student
like dengue, diarrhea, flu and other infections. It will also prevent excessive
flooding. This activity will also open the heart and mind of the student to
help and develop concern for their own community. This will also help the
student to have a primary information on the current problem, issues or situation
being face by our country.
I
really enjoy this activity, yes it is tiring but I really don’t feel it because
my student make things easier. Example while we are cleaning some student will
throw jokes, share their present situation, their struggles in life and the
projects they need to comply. Actually I realize that community problems are
easily to address if all people will be united in one purpose and that is to
love one another. It is just a matter of concern and love for one another. If
you care for your neighbor or every individual around you will not do anything
that will cause harm to them and wrong disposal of garbage is also included to
it. I am really thankful that I have an opportunity to help the community in a
simple way because I believe great change comes from simple beginning. Sooner I
will become a real teacher by profession. One thing that I want to teach my
student is about valuing things. If we appreciate things around us, our family,
our friends, the air that we breath, sunlight, water, atmosphere, and
everything that God has given to us we will be thankful and will learn to value
what we have.
