Dear God,

                        Lord, thank you for this opportunity to teach the next generation, for giving me guidance every single day and for providing for my needs daily.  My college life is really an ups and downs experience but I know that you are always with me. I can’t imagine that I am really near to my dream, to become a registered teacher. Thank you Lord for giving me supportive parent who are always there to guide me, to give encouragement and to correct me for my mistakes.  God, thank you for giving me friends that I can be with through thick and thin. They are one of the reason why I didn’t quit in my college life. They always remind me on how good you are in my life. Thank you Lord for giving me knowledge to think clearly to pass all my subject at my previews level.

            God I am facing a huge challenge right now, as a future teacher I have a lot of things to do and a great responsibility upon my shoulders, so help me God. God, give me courage to do what is right and to execute fairness and justice. Lord give patience to deal with different kinds of student so that I may become an effective teacher for them. Help me lord to have a wide understanding and genuine care for my students so that I may able to teach them in a right manner and understand their situation. Being a teacher demands a lot from me even my time, my strength, my mind and my heart is in this job. Lord guide me to help my student to develop their full potentiality and for them to grow in a holistic manner.  Help me oh God to teach my student right values and conduct aside from the learnings coming from their book, so that they will not only become intelligent but also a man/woman with integrity and valor. Lord may you give me a heart for my profession so that I will do my job with a grateful heart and with all my best.   

            God you know I have a lot of things to face and a lot of questions is going in my mind. Like how can I get the attention of my students daily, how can I make my subject interesting for them so that they will always have a desire to learn something from the school, and how can I encourage them to be a responsible and productive citizen of this nation. If I depend on my own strength I will not be successful on making my dreams come true but with you God I know you will help me to do what is right. So I give my full trust you my Lord, let your will be done in my life. Lord I may fail to a lot of times but You never fail on your word and on your promise so I will entrust my life to you make me and mold me to a person you intended me to be. When the time comes that I am going to encounter you face to face may I hear the words “Welcome my good and faithful servant”.

Lolomboy National High School


                    For my practice teaching I was designated to Lolomboy National High School. It is not as large like other school around the province, but it is the largest public High School in Bocaue in terms of number of students, though its location is a little bit confusing because if you will analyze, the address of the school is Bunducan, Bocaue, Bulacan but it is within the scope of the barangay Duhat. The name of school is Lolomboy but it is not located in Lolomboy.  The complete area of the school is about 1. 2 hectares and the leaders of the school is still filing a resolution for another 4 hectares of land to be added in the overall length of the school. There are 13 building located in the school. Every grade level have different building for them. The school have some facilities like guidance office, science laboratory, computer laboratory, library and welding shop. This facilities is a great help for the students to learn more and to enhance their skill. The school is near to agriculture land that is planted with rice crops. It is near to the main road so students will not have a hard time going to school. I could say that the school is student friendly because of fresh air, not crowded building, approachable teachers, and conducive classroom. I think the students will really learn in this kind of environment since school atmosphere is really important for the students. It will motivate them to study and to increase their knowledge in different subject.

                     I can say that Lolomboy National High School is not that modern and highly-technological like the other private school who are complete with equipment and facilities. Example Comfort Room are not well manage and maintained that gives feeling of uncomfortable to the students and it is not safe for them because they may be able to get infection. Their Science Laboratory lack for machine or devices that is needed for careful analysis of different specimen to be study. Another is the Library, I believe it must undergo some renovation because some books that are place there are outdated and the location and ambiance of it is not really attractive for the students to read books and study. Lack of rooms that are intended for keeping projector, laptop and other 21-century tools make teaching stressful for apprentice teacher like me. 




Reflection on the site of the school


My first impression about Lolomboy National High School is it is just an ordinary public school as what I am expected to see but as I become more familiar to it, I can now appreciate the beauty of the school and the things need to improve. There are some facilities that are helpful for the students like library, computer laboratory, science laboratory, open high school and SPED building. On the other hand there are some equipment and facilities need to be improve or provided. Example there is a lack for modern technology like projector and speaker. For new teacher or apprentice teacher like me it will be difficult to teach without the use of projector and white screen. The kind of student today needs more motivating effect to be interested on the lesson. Insufficiency of this materials will cause student not to listen and not to pay attention on the topic. It is also expensive so Student teacher like have me have no choice but to create traditional visual aids.

Another thing that I really struggle me at first is about the comfort room. The comfort room for the student is not well manage, sometimes it smells too bad. So what I did is I never use the comfort room. There are CR for teachers but it is always closed and I need to ask the janitor to open it so i cause it for this case honestly I think twice if this is the school that I want to belong with but as time pass by my cooperating teacher teach me where can I find clean and presentable comfort room so I become more comfortable now.

Some teachers have their own place or faculty but some don’t, like in the situation of my cooperating teacher we are not in the faculty but in a classroom. In my part I am not able to get to know or be familiar with other teacher in the school. At first it’s always me and my cooperating teacher who build a bond together but as time pass by I begin to recognize and be friends with other teachers specially to those who are in line with Social Studies. Now the leaders of the school is asking for more financial assistance coming from the government to help them build a building for Senior high school and for betterment of the teachers.


To end I would say that my experience in this school is a roller coaster ride. There are ups and downs but in the end I will surely love it and I will never forget the experience I have while I am here in Lolomboy National High School.
